Vacation all I every wanted.....
To quote the GoGo's - "Vacation all I ever wanted, Vacation HAD to get away..." After two weeks of moving and setting up the new location for the store, a vacation was as necessity! The whole family with extended family members (aunt, uncle, cousins, grandmother) went to Provincetown, Cape Cod.
I am sunburned, relaxed and jonesing to knit. I found that knitting and sand do not necessarily get along. And believe me I tried. I did however almost finish my Clapotis and then duly ran out of yarn! Problem being I bought this from my beloved knitting teacher Cookie from her stash (small yarn shop size stash I might add) and LYS doesn't have the same color. Lost the label so I don't have the color lot number! I do know it is Blue Heron Beaded Rayon - Sandstone. My search is on. I am not one to not finish a project!
Back to vacation - oh what fun and what laughs! We happen to be in Provincetown during Bear Week!
The sunsets on the beach were stunning,
and it was great to see my 90 year old grandmother jumping in the waves with my kids - memories they will have forever! So much fun!
Now back to normal life I need to start a project and thinking socks are in order - have yarn and enough to finish the project.

Bears: "[a] subculture of gay men known as bears, who embrace natural body hair" - The New York Times.
My cousin Lauren's boyfriend is a large hairy man and was quite the attraction wherever we went - he was loved by the boys that was for sure!
I enjoyed the street performances - especially the gentleman who was approximately 60 yrs old dressed in ripped fishnet stockings, size 14 purple sequin dress, red shoes and his wig on sideways and playing an electric guitar what a vision of beauty he was!The sunsets on the beach were stunning,

So excited tonight is the first Wednesday Knit Knight (Suzanne's spelling not mine)! What to bring, what to knit, what to drink - so much planning I can hardly stand it! Now the sad realization that my life has been reduced to THIS much excitement about a knit night.
I am in the process of moving my store for the fifth (yes 5 times) time. Circumstances have made each move necessary and stupidity had made me actually make each move instead of packing it in and waving the white flag. I could do a whole blog on just the consignment business and consignors, but why relive my hell when I can escape into the world of wool (and any other fiber that happens to flip my skirt).
I just received an email from my dutch friend Astrid and she has shipped my Kauni on June 26 so with the astronomical postage I paid I should receive the package sometime next week. I don't know why this yarn has caught my fancy so much.
I am on the hunt for a cute sock pattern for my daughter. Something with a design not too hard. I find all sorts of women sock pattern but they are too big for the little one. So onward I search.
I LOVE the baby sweater I am knitting for Suzanne from the book GREETINGS FROM KNIT CAFE. It is made from the prettiest pumpkin color Debbie Bliss - cathay. (I am teaching myself to post pictures)
Next knit is the Clapotis that I am making out of Blue Heron Beaded Rayon - Have NO idea what color as I accidentally threw out the label. But as you can see I have been able to drop stitches though as certain lady with CLAP had her doubts - thanks Jude!
And last but not least I am making the most adorable tank/vest top from Lucinda Guy's And So To Bed.... for my daughter Molly the yarn I bought during my yarn trip to Web's with Suzanne - WOW what a warehouse definitely worth the trip!
Enough fun for me today back to work and playing taxi for the kids! I need to finish because I am going to Knit Knight !

My husband has accused me of turning into a 70 year old knitting biddy. I take offense to this comment in sooo many ways. First I am far from 70 (don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being 70). Second the biddy comment - what the hell is a biddy? I have made no comments about his hockey playing and the subsequent meetings (at the local tavern) that must take place in order to get the team in order. So why should it bother him if I sit in my chair most nights and knit for a couple of hours??
I become obsessed with a project and won't put it down until it's finished. The project De jour is Clapotis. I am knitting it with Blue Heron Beaded Rayon and it is yummy. I can't wait to finish so I can wear it. But never fear there are 4 other projects in the works also - a baby sweater for my friend Suzanne, a sweater for my darling husband, a sweater for my girlfriend, a adorable top for my daughter. Sweaters seem to be the theme here. I am going to start taking pictures and posting them as soon as I figure out how to do it. Back to my knitting I must go - husband is away at a hockey meeting!

There is always a first...
I have finally decided to lose my virginity (blogging virginity) and start my own blog. I would like to give credit to a few people and a weekend of great memories. First a shout out to Suzanne, Diana and Susan for a blog tutorial this weekend. Once I get the hang of this I will add their blogs to mine. Suzanne has promised a tutorial on blogging so that I can have all the whistles & bells that everyone else has.
I have truly turned into a yarn addict and my stash is growing. I am nowhere near the stashes that were spoken of during our yarn retreat, but, my basket is starting to overflow.
I am currently working on Clapotis, a darling little tank for my daughter by Lucinda Guy, a sweater for my husband, a sweater for a friend.
I happened upon the Knitting Harlot's blog and saw this amazing cardigan made with a yarn called Kauni. Needless to say I had to have it and have placed on order for this yarn with someone in Europe can't even imagine what the shipping is going to be.
Ok I've bored everyone enough on the first blog. Be back soon with something more entertaining I hope!
